Our First K2 Lembeh Dive Resort Scholar!
K2 Lembeh Dive Resort has in June 2024 awarded our first scholarship-student loan (note 1) to a deserving local boy Cristian, from Paudean Village, Lembeh, to pursue Nautical Studies at the Politeknik Pelayaran Sulawesi Utara (Poltekpel Sulut) or Maritime Polytechnic of North Sulawesi, located at Amurang. His dream is to become a commercial ship captain.

This student has been awarded a combination of scholarship and interest-free student loan. The purpose of this is to instill a sense of responsibility on the student, and in the longer term, provide more funding to other deserving students.

K2 Lembeh Dive Resort Scholarship Program
Education in Indonesia is expensive, relative to income, that is. Most students in the villages do not have the opportunity to pursue tertiary education due to the lack of funds.

As part of our vision to be a socially responsible enterprise, K2 Lembeh Dive Resort has setup a scholarship fund to provide full scholarship, partial scholarship and scholarship-student loan to deserving students from Lembeh Island.
​
By doing so, we hope to improve social mobility, in a small but meaningful way.

We like to invite you to partner us in our program. We welcome contributions from our guests to assist us to provide more funds to support this program.

With this scholarship program we embarked on our next phase of giving back to our community. We are excited to be able to support a local boy to start the first step of his dream of becoming a commercial ship captain. This is a significant commitment as we will be supporting Cristian for the next 4 years!
​
Our vision, perhaps better said to be our dream, is to be able to support 1 student each year, and thus we would be supporting 4 university/polytechnic students at any one time (1 student each from year 1 to year 4), hopefully, in the near future. This will be a significant financial commitment.
​
Your contributions, entirely voluntary, will help us go a long way in this initiative, providing more opportunities for deserving students to achieve their dreams. By donating, you are making a meaningful impact on the future of our community and giving a little social mobility to the community.
